Pray for me ...

Aren't these socks great for wearing to a Giants' game in cold San Francisco? Can anyone see the correlation between these socks and next Tuesday? Yep! I'm going to the Giants' Stitch N' Pitch game and these danged socks are going with me! On my feet hopefully but if not, then I will be knitting them in the stands! I can't wait because on top of getting to go to another ball game, I also get to be off work for two whole days! Yippee!

Look! My Sock Went to a Baseball Game!

My sock took me to Stitch N' Pitch night with the Sacramento River Cats (they are a AAA farm team for the Oakland A's that play here in Sacramento). My knitting buddy Kristen and I had planned to do this together, but unfortunately for Kristen she had to go out of town to a family wedding so she couldn't go with me. (We are going to go to the San Francisco Giants Stitch N' Pitch in a few weeks though! She promised me!) I asked my other knitting buddy Kat to with me instead. We had a great time! The River Cats won without having to go into overtime, the weather was great for watching baseball, not too hot, not too breezy and I knit on my Regia socks until it was almost time to start the heel flap! I was pretty pleased by this because I am trying to finish these socks so that I can start a new pair (I'm kinda bored with the beige and gray).

I was a bit surprised that there weren't more knitters there. It seemed like there were maybe 20 people knitting in the stands, around 7 or 8 people doing some of form of embroidery or cross-stitch and that was it! Hopefully there will be a better turn out in San Francisco!

(By the way, I am still working on Daniel's Wallaby ... I really want to get the beige sock done so I have been working on it so that it can go away but I will be going back to Daniel's Wallaby, since all I really have to do is knit about 2 more inches on the hood and sew it up!)

I love knitting!

A post in which I am amazed at myself ...

Can you believe it? I have almost finished my 2nd Wallaby!

And Christmas is still 5 months away! I'll try not to get too cocky since I have a habit of starting projects like this and then having to kill myself as I get closer to the deadline but I am trying really hard to stay ahead of the curve on this one. Even though I believe that I should probably reknit the first sweater in a bit larger size since I believe that Lucas will outgrow it before Christmas. I am going to wait until I have finished the larger two sweaters before doing that.

Also, I have decided to add navy-colored stripes to everyones sweaters. I am going to do the stripes differently on everyone's sweaters so that the sweaters will look the same ... but different.

I am working diligently on my nephew Daniel's Wallaby. (By the way, I love the stripe!) I believe that I will be able to finish this sweater over the next day or so since I only have to finish the decreases, do the neck ribbing and knit the hood. Wow! I am amazing even myself! The second Walaby has been a bit easier to knit since I have already figured out the directions from the first one.

As soon as I have finished this Wallaby, I will be casting on for another Wallaby in the same exact size for my nephew Ethan. Hopefully I will finish Daniel's sweater tonight when I get home from work so that I can knit on Ethan's over the 4th of July holiday.

Have a great Fourth of July everyone!
